About the California Tree Fruit Agreement
The California Tree Fruit Agreement (CTFA) represents California’s more than 900 growers of fresh peaches, plums and nectarines.
Originally established in 1933 and headquartered in Reedley, California, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, CTFA administers marketing order programs on behalf of California’s fresh peach, plum and nectarine farmers. Committees of elected grower representatives direct CTFA’s activities on the industry’s behalf, with oversight from federal and state agricultural departments. CTFA programs include production and marketing research, quality control and market development functions.
CTFA includes the four marketing orders of the California peach, plum and nectarine industry: the Peach Commodity Committee and Nectarine Administrative Committee, both federal programs, and the California Tree Fruit Marketing Board and California Plum Marketing Board, both state programs.
CTFA is funded by growers of fresh California peaches, plums and nectarines by a mandatory per-box assessment paid by on each box sold. CTFA also receives Market Access Program funds from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service for some international activities.
